Friends of Erlestoke Prison
Joanne runs creative writing workshops and projects at HMP Erlestoke via the charity Friends of Erlestoke Prison.
The charity helps offenders with a variety of initiatives, as well as raising awareness locally. She also works with Public Health to provide a course of writing for wellbeing for prisoners.

Joanne collaborated in 2025 with writer Max Porter to produce an anthology of prisoner writing which was distributed to bookshops and libraries in Bath and Wiltshire. The anthology is available to to view here.
